Every member of our team brings unique skills, experience, and warmth, ensuring that each child receives the care and attention they need to grow with confidence.

Meet the Team

  • Louise

    NURSERY MANAGER & SENCO

    Louise has been a part of Little Acorns for several years, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge in early years education and child-led learning. She is known for her engaging teaching style and her ability to create a warm and structured environment where children feel encouraged to explore and grow.

    In her role as Nursery Manager, Louise ensures smooth day-to-day operations and works with families to provide tailored guidance for each child's development. She is particularly passionate about early literacy and language development, helping children build strong communication skills that prepare them for school and beyond. She supports staff training and their careers and maintains a fun, structured, and nurturing atmosphere in the nursery.

  • Inga

    DEPUTY MANAGER

    Inga holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has over 15 years of experience working with children from 9 months old to secondary school age. She began her journey at Little Acorns in 2016 and was promoted to Deputy Manager just a year later.

    Inga is passionate about creating a nurturing and inclusive environment. She is also the creative mind behind the nursery’s visual design and decorations – from seasonal displays to themed rooms – and takes pride in bringing ideas to life that spark joy and curiosity in children.

    Inga is dedicated, imaginative, and values the meaningful impact she can make in each child’s early development.

  • Kirsty

    DEPUTY MANAGER

    Kirsty started at Little Acorns as a trainee at 17 and worked across all rooms for five years after qualifying. She then gained experience in an SEN primary school and later as a Senior in a residential care home for children and young people.

    Throughout this time, she stayed connected to Little Acorns and now returns as Second Deputy Manager. She already knows many of the families and looks forward to reconnecting and meeting new ones.

  • Shannon

    ROOM LEADER IN THE BABY ROOM (THE LITTLE NUTSHELLS)

    Shannon has been with Little Acorns for nearly five years and has completed both Level 2 and Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications. She currently leads the baby room, where she provides a warm and nurturing environment for our youngest learners. With experience across all nursery age groups, she enjoys supporting children as they grow and develop.

  • Cristina

    ON-SITE NURSERY CHEF

    Cristina has been an integral part of Little Acorns for many years. Originally from Portugal, she brings not only experience but also a passion for healthy and diverse food. In our kitchen, nothing goes to waste – Cristina is deeply committed to avoiding food waste and making the most of fresh, seasonal ingredients.

    She regularly introduces new dishes and flavours, helping children explore a wide range of tastes from an early age – including exotic fruits and vegetarian recipes. A key focus of her cooking philosophy is to provide balanced, sugar-free meals that are both nourishing and appealing. Cristina’s creative, thoughtful approach ensures that mealtimes are not only healthy but also an opportunity for discovery and enjoyment.

  • Maia

    APPRENTICE IN THE EXPLORERS (TODDLER ROOM)

    Maia has been with Little Acorns for ten months as an apprentice and is currently working towards her Level 2 qualification. She enjoys engaging with the children and looks forward to continuing her journey in early years education.

The Owners


  • Co-Owner & Managing Director

    Birgit became the owner of Little Acorns in August 2024, bringing with her a strong background in finance and a deep passion for child development. Originally from Germany, she moved to the UK in 2014 and transitioned from a successful career in banking to the world of early childhood education.

    Her journey into the nursery sector was driven by personal experience as a mother of two, recognizing the need for a caring, well-structured, and stimulating environment for young children. She is dedicated to maintaining Little Acorns as a place where children can thrive, families feel connected, and high-quality early years education is prioritized. Birgit believes that the early years are the foundation of lifelong learning and is committed to fostering a setting where children can explore, grow, and develop essential skills for the future..


  • Co-Owner

    Amy has spent over 12 years working in psychology and social work, specialising in supporting individuals with mental health challenges. With a strong educational background in forensic psychology and therapeutic intervention, she has worked extensively with adults, young people, and families, providing emotional support and guidance.

    Her passion for early childhood education comes from her belief that a nurturing and supportive foundation in the early years fosters resilience, confidence, and a love for learning. As a mother of four young children, she brings valuable firsthand experience in child development and care.

    At Little Acorns, Amy is dedicated to creating an inclusive and enriching environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to express themselves. She works closely with staff and families to ensure that every child receives the individual support they need to thrive.

Together, Birgit and Amy collaborate with the dedicated Little Acorns team to uphold the highest standards of care, education, and community involvement.
